School of Applied Psychology

Individuals within complex structures

The focus is on how individuals act and interact within complex communal structures typical of modern societies. The School of Applied Psychology is interested in organisations, institutions and networks whose production processes and service provision are increasingly impacted by the relentless march of technology.

Cooperations with companies

The School deploys practical concepts and systematic know-how to solve the wide range of issues that arise whenever people, technology and organisations are brought together or when cooperative processes are designed.

The School works closely with companies and organisations, from small and medium-sized enterprises to multinationals, as well as with other disciplines within academia; it also participates in national and international networking.

Bachelor degree and tuition and research Institutes

The University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland in its present form was founded on 1 January 2006, and with it the School of Applied Psychology. The School was formed from the Social Sciences activities of the University of Applied Sciences Solothurn Northwestern Switzerland in Olten.

The School is structured around the Bachelor degree course in Applied Psychology that was launched in autumn 2004. The School today comprises three tuition and research Institutes.
