Switzerland has long successfully exported and marketed its banks and insurers, its watches and medical technology, its social mediation and the Red Cross. Within a century, Switzerland evolved from one of the poorest countries in Europe to one of the most affluent in the world.
At our School of Business we educate and support, encourage and interact, advise and challenge the potential and current managers, economists and marketers to continue in this prosperous Swiss tradition. Equally, we practise and instill an integral sense of professional ethics and social responsibility.
Internationalisation is our daily business - we import it, we export it and we live it!
With Cap and Gown: First Master Title Graduation at School of BusinessThe first graduates from the Master of Science programmes which started up two years ago received their titles on 12 March in Basel. In keeping with the international character of the degree programmes, taught entirely in English and with dual degree options, the graduates wore caps and gowns ensuring a colourful ceremony. There were 14 new graduates in total from the MSc in International Management and MSc in Business Information Systems programmes - both of which were among the first to be federally accredited Masters at universities of applied sciences. One graduate, Michael Sitte, commented that he had searched throughout Europe for a suitable course and that the research orientation had been the deciding factor in opting for the MSc in International Management. "The greatest win, however, was the international diversity of fellow students," he said. A total of 18 students from the MBA programme run by the Edinburgh School of Business plus 41 graduates from the Executive Master of Business Administration also graduated in the ceremony held in the Elisabethankirche. |
