Departments
The University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) comprises nine departments, each consisting of various institutes.
In order to fulfil their remit, defined by the Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology (BBT/OPET), all affiliated FHNW Schools provide academic degree courses, continuing education, applied research and development, and services to third parties.
The Schools are concentrated in four campuses, located in Aarau, Basel, Brugg/Windisch, Muttenz and Olten.
FHNW degree courses are oriented towards practice and designed to meet market needs. Following its successful implementation of the Bologna Declaration, the FHNW has been offering Bachelor’s degree courses since autumn 2005. Starting with the 2008/09 winter semester, Master’s degrees have been launched in almost all fields of study. For further details on the University’s organisation, please click About us.
